Volunteer home tutors
The Volunteer Home Tutor Scheme offers a learning alternative for AMEP students who are not able to attend face to face classes or for those accessing Teacher Assisted Distance Learning.
Volunteer home tutors guide students through language and learning activities. They provide language assistance for a minimum of 1 hour per week. Tutors and students generally meet on a one to one basis in the student's home or another suitable venue.
If you would like to volunteer your time to assist students who need one on one support in English as a Second Language (ESL) TAFE Queensland invites you to join the Volunteer Home Tutor Scheme.
To become a volunteer tutor you need to:
have permanent Australian residency
have a good level of written and verbal English skills
be able to commit for a minimum 12 month period
complete the free Volunteer Tutor training course, consisting of 15 hours of online training plus additional training at the discretion of the TAFE Institute.
