Pathways
You can take various pathways on your learning journey.
Students must be 15 years of age to enrol in the TAFE programs. Schools can arrange the required forms and ensure these are forwarded onto the schools consultant at TAFE Queensland.
Senior studies program
Senior Studies Programs offer a wide variety of course options and are available at the following institutes:
Alexandra Hills campus, Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE
Hervey Bay campus, Wide Bay Institute of TAFE
You can undertake Board of Senior Secondary School Studies subjects, modules in TAFE accredited courses, or a combination. This allows you to gain industry skills, while completing senior studies.
Study TAFE at school
You can study TAFE at school, through:

direct enrolment into programs at TAFE

delivery in schools by TAFE

school based apprenticeships or traineeships.

Adult tertiary preparation program
The Adult Tertiary Preparation (ATP) program helps improve your chances of gaining entrance to tertiary institutions.
This is done by developing your research, writing and general study skills and gaining a senior equivalent certificate.
The program is especially suitable for adults who have been away from formal education for some time and would like to enhance their job prospects.
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years or turning 18 in the first year of the program.

TAFE and university
As a TAFE graduate, you can articulate to university and in some cases obtain credit transfer to reduce the time it takes to complete your degree. TAFE has credit transfer arrangements with:
Many university graduates also undertake further studies at TAFE. TAFE institutes will be able to advise what credit may apply.

Short courses
TAFE offers a range of short, non accredited courses without formal assessment.
