Counselling

All TAFE students have access to free, confidential short term counselling provided by experienced professionals to assist them to achieve a successful outcome from vocational education and training.

Counselling assists students to clarify their goals, make career decisions, plan educational pathways and make the best course choice to achieve their goals.

Educational counselling is available for students who experience difficulty in their studies and achieving their outcomes e.g. preparing for exams, motivation, stress, returning to study. Group workshops may be conducted for study skills, exam preparation and time management.

Personal counselling helps students to resolve personal problems which are affecting their study and progress e.g. depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties.

Where personal counselling needs are long term, students may be referred to other agencies.

Student counsellors are available at all TAFE Queensland institutes.
