Apprenticeships and traineeships

Apprenticeship and traineeships are jobs that combine work, structured training and formal assessment, which lead to a qualification.

An apprentice or trainee is contracted to an employer for a nominal period of time, enabling them top successfully gain competence in a trade (apprenticeship) or vocational area (traineeship).

There is also the option for students to undertake apprenticeships and traineeships, while at school.

TAFE Queensland has the crucial role of providing the training course to your apprentice or trainee.

For more detailed information on apprenticeships and traineeships, the benefits, guidelines, etc, please visit the  Apprenticeships Info website or telephone 1800 210 210. You can also read the booklet Apprenticeships and Traineeships, Information for Employers (PDF 3.5MB).

To schedule your apprentice or trainee training with TAFE, please contact your local TAFE Queensland institute.
