Senior Phase of Learning

Creating the skilled workforce that Queensland employers and industries need is a shared responsibility and should start at the Senior Phase of Learning. Young people who turn 15 on or after 1 January 2006 are required to stay at school until they achieve a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or a Certificate III or higher vocational qualification or have turned 17.

Students must be 15 years of age to enrol in the programs - schools can arrange the required forms for completion and ensure these are forwarded onto the Schools consultant at TAFE.

Adult Tertiary Preparation Program

Not everyone enters tertiary study through the traditional pathway of secondary schooling to year 12.

The Adult Tertiary Preparation (ATP) program is designed to help improve your chances of gaining entrance to tertiary institutions, by developing your research, writing and general study skills and gaining a senior equivalent certificate.

The program is especially suitable for adults who have been away from formal education for some time and would like to enhance your job prospects.

Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years or turning 18 in the first year of the program.

Find further information on Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation.
