English language assessments
TAFE Queensland English Language and Literacy Services provides English language assessment services for people of non-English speaking backgrounds for:
- the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP)
- the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC)
- individual client requirements.
TAFE Queensland English Language and Literacy Services can also provide information on, and referrals to, the Language Literacy and Numeracy Program.
Individual assessments
Individual assessments are conducted in a comfortable environment and the information obtained is confidential.
English language levels are assessed under the International Second Language Proficiency Rating scale (ISLPR). Reading, writing, speaking and listening skills are rated on a five point scale where 0 equals zero proficiency and 5 is equivalent to native speaker proficiency.
Assessors
Assessments are carried out by qualified, experienced assessors who have been trained in International Second Language Proficiency Rating scale (ISLPR) assessment.
