Resources 101
Who is it for?
Resources 101 is designed to give Queenslanders an introduction to working in the resources industry. The five week training program does not guarantee an employment outcome, but rather will enhance employability for entry level positions and pathways to other courses, jobs and apprenticeships.
How to apply?
Eligible Queenslanders are encouraged to register interest in the Resources 101 program or direct through the relevant TAFE institutes.
Following registration, applicants will be contacted by the relevant TAFE institute and provided with more information about the program and availability of places.

| Cost | Fully funded places will be available to eligible* candidates. (1,000 places) For those ineligible for a fully funded program, the program may be delivered for a fee. |

| Outcome |
TAFE Queensland will issue participants in Resources 101 with a Statement of Attainment on successful completion of the 11 units. To obtain a Statement of Attainment, participants undertaking Resource 101 will be required to identify that they have a minimum standard of knowledge and skill (relating to the resource industry) in order to be assessed as competent. This will be achieved by: Participants undertaking classroom learning activities and associated assessment and a mine site visit or equivalent activity which will provide the participant with the necessary resource industry exposure and work activities that have been created to simulate those undertaken in the mining industry. or or In these cases TAFE Queensland will issue a Statement of Attainment when relevant documents have been received. Participants completing the program in this format should note that all competency requirements must be completed before 14 December 2012. |

| Other information | To complement the above program, it is recommended that you complete CPCCOHS1001A work safely in the construction industry (white card). This program would be at additional cost. | |
