About the institute
Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE is the largest provider of vocational education and training in North Queensland.
The institute enrols over 13,500 students each year, operating in a competitive training market along with other private training providers. The institute is the largest trainer of apprentices in the region, and also trains large numbers of employees, across a broad range of industries in North Queensland.
Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE provides community building programs (literacy, return to work) and customised programs for business. Program delivery includes face to face, on the job, web based, block release and blended modes.
