This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technical functions and to achieve a degree of self-sufficiency as an advanced ICT user.

This program features industry-standard computer applications, installation of operating systems, web technologies plus basic fault finding and care of hardware.
Persons working at this level will support information technology activities in the workplace across a wide range of ICT areas.
Qualification Structure
To acheive this qualfication students are required to complete 17 units, 6 core units plus 11 elective units.
Electives
Students must select either Network Administration OR Web Technologies electives.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Preferred entry pathway
Successful completion of ICA20111 Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology, OR other relevant qualifications OR units equivalent to the core of ICA20111 with demonstrated vocational experience in a range of work environments using basic information technologies.
Credit may be granted by The Bremer Institute to students for study in identical units successfully completed at another training organisation. If you think you may be eligible for credit transfers, discuss this possibility with teaching staff. Original copies of your previous qualifications (if gained outside a TAFE Queensland Institute) will need to be sighted by staff.
Subject Selection
Elective competencies for this qualification have been selected to meet the needs of diverse enterprises. However, students may choose from a variety of options including incorporating electives from other Training Packages or from previous study. Should you wish to select other elective units than those listed in the qualification outline please discuss this with teaching staff, to ensure that the qualification requirements are met.
