Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT50307)

Course summary

This is a nationally recognised qualification that provides students with the knowledge and practical skills to work within the massage industry or associated industries as a remedial massage therapist/practitioner, be self-employed or work within a larger health service. Graduates can apply for membership of professional associations in Australia and apply for private health fund rebate status.

Entry requirements

To enter into this program students are required to have completed or be completion HLT40312 Cert IV in Massage Therapy Practice.  Students are also required to have a satisfactory completion of Year 10 (QLD) or mature age entry.

Career Opportunities:  Potential career opportunities upon completion of this program include providing remedial massage treatment to clients with specific needs such as injury management, rehabilitation, palliative and aged care, women and children, athletes and corporate clients. Practitioners can also supervise other massage therapists. They can work in private practice, massage or multi-discipline clinics, health or beauty resorts and retreats, beauty salons and day spas offering relaxation, therapeutic and remedial massage to a variety of clients.

Study Pathways:   Upon completion of this program selected units from this qualification can be used as credit towards HLT51407 Diploma of Aromatherapy.
