Adult learners investigate University options at TAFE
Thursday, 4 November 2010
Adult learners considering a career change or who wish to apply for University entry, can find out how by completing a Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation (ATP). Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE (MSIT) can help them achieve their goals.
MSIT will host a series of ATP information sessions at the institute's Yeronga, Alexandra Hills and Loganlea campuses on Wednesday, 24 November 2010 and Thursday, 20 January 2011 for mature age students looking for help with returning to or applying for tertiary study.
Institute Director Kaylene Harth said the information sessions will explain the flexible options available to ATP students through full time, part time or online study.
"MSIT understands many adult learners have other commitments such as family and work which can bring additional challenges when it comes to studying. Our focused and attentive teachers deliver high quality, face to face instruction on all ATP subjects plus our students are provided online support to cater for individual students' needs," Ms Harth said.
"Many ATP students undertake the qualification to finish their Senior Studies so that they can apply for University. Others are aiming to obtain an OP (Overall Position) ranking to apply for University courses with high OP cut offs (such as Law) or where there are limited pathways for alternative entry (such as teaching).
"Whatever the reason, all adult learners considering a career change or entry into University should find out how MSIT can help them to be better prepared to start a tertiary course."
